About Ms. Paru Eo
Ms. Paru Eo is a highly respected professional in Early Childhood Education,
with more than forty years of progressive experience in teaching, teacher
training, and curriculum development across Papua New Guinea. She currently
serves as the Curriculum Developer at the Papua New Guinea Christian Institute
of Higher Education (PNGCIHE), where she plays a central role in strengthening
curriculum delivery, improving educational standards, and supporting the
development of high-quality early childhood programs. Her career reflects
a deep commitment to nurturing young learners and advancing educational
excellence nationwide. She has developed expertise in curriculum implementation,
standards-based curriculum design, and assessment practices, making her a valuable
leader in teacher education.
Her academic qualifications highlight her dedication to continual professional
growth. She holds a Bachelor in Early Childhood (Teacher Education) from the
Queensland University of Technology, where she achieved outstanding academic
results. She also completed a Certificate in Elementary Teacher Training at
PNGEI, specialized training in external assessment for Upper Primary OBE
units, a Diploma in Education Primary (In-service), and an initial Certificate
in Primary Teaching from Balob Teachers College. These qualifications form a
strong foundation for her contributions to education and curriculum development.
Throughout her career, Ms. Eo has demonstrated steady advancement from
classroom teaching to senior leadership and academic roles. She currently
serves as the Head of Department for Early Childhood at the Innovative University
of Enga, following earlier positions as Senior Lecturer and Lecturer at
Enga Teachers College. Before transitioning into higher education, she worked
extensively in trainer and senior trainer roles in Abau District, Central Province,
where she provided vital teacher training and professional development.
Her earlier years were spent in the classroom as a Senior Teacher and Assistant
Teacher, building the strong practical teaching foundation that continues
to guide her work today.
Beyond her formal positions, Ms. Eo has played important roles in educational
leadership, policy development, and teacher capacity-building. She served as a
member of the Elementary Subject Advisory Committee under the Curriculum
Development Division (CDD), where she contributed directly to national curriculum
development. She has facilitated major workshops, including the School Learning
Improvement Plan (SLIP), Teacher In-service Plan programs, and Board of Management
training sessions. She has participated in key training programs related to the
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Harassment (PSEH), Standards-Based
Curriculum implementation, and basic computing, further strengthening her
ability to serve educators and institutions.
Ms. Eo’s personal interests include cooking, reading, sewing, and active
