Our story

From humble beginnings to a regional centre of excellence

Waigani Christian College (WCC) was established through the collective vision of Port Moresby community leaders, pioneering lecturers, and Christian educators who believed that every village in Papua New Guinea deserves highly trained teachers, health workers, and administrators. This vision was strongly supported and financially backed by Hon. Benjamin Mul, whose commitment to education and community development played a major role in turning the dream of the College into a reality.
From its early beginnings as a small community-based Christian school, WCC steadily grew into a reputable institution grounded in discipline, faith, and academic excellence. The partnership between community leaders, church groups, and Hon. Benjamin Mul ensured that WCC had the foundation and resources needed to provide quality education from Early Childhood to Secondary School, with pathways into tertiary and vocational studies.
Over the years, the College has become a centre for academic growth, leadership preparation, and Christian values. Its founders’ belief that strong education can transform families, villages, and the nation continues to guide the institution today.
Waigani Christian College remains committed to its original mission: to raise morally grounded, spiritually strong, and academically capable young men and women who will contribute positively to Papua New Guinea’s development.
